Job Description:

Due to an internal promotion, Human Resources has an opportunity to join our team as a HR Solutions Consultant in the HR Service Center. The HR Service Center provides a single point of contact with Regions Hospital Human Resources where internal and external customers (including Regions Hospital, RHSC and Capitol View Transitional Care Center employees, applicants and customers) can obtain prompt, courteous and accurate information about all things related to Human Resources including but not limited to: benefits, compensation, timecards, payroll, performance reviews, HR policies and processes, recruitment, labor relations, tuition reimbursement, etc.
 
The HR Solutions Consultant is responsible for providing superior support to customers making inquiries to the HR Service Center including:

  • Uses questioning and listening skills that support effective communication to accurately answer questions from customers (via phone, in person or by email). Phone duties make up 40% of this role
  • Handles difficult situations in a professional, compassionate manner and seeks appropriate assistance when needed
  • Assists customers in obtaining the appropriate HR-related policies, procedures and resources and provides assistance to resolve specific questions or problems
  • Investigates and resolves customer’s inquiries, concerns and questions regarding service provided by or through Regions Hospital Human Resources
  • Coordinates issues or problem resolution with other internal or external departments (such as payroll) on behalf of the employee

In addition to providing customer service, this position is responsible for managing specialized HR transactions and following applicable processes which includes:

  • Creating, updating and editing new hire records in the HRIS system (Lawson)
  • Processing employee changes, paperwork changes and pay changes for all employees including annual merit increases, promotions, special market increases and annual structure adjustments
  • Ensuring I-9 and Visa Management is completed timely for current and terminating employees
  • Preparing necessary data for launching employee evaluations in our HR system, preparing spreadsheets for leaders with employee data and processes merit pay increases
  • Completing payroll corrections
  • Facilitating communication process between HR, compensation, benefits, payroll and HRIS team regarding payroll/personnel corrections, deadlines and computer reports

Required Qualifications:

Associate’s degree or equivalent college courses and experience to equal 2 years

Three (3) years’ experience in customer service setting with extensive customer service and telephone skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Two (2) years’ experience in a Human Resources field with detailed knowledge of standard HR products, services and policies/procedures

Previous experience in a union and non-union environment
