This position works in a fast-paced, call center environment answering a high volume of calls from health & dental plan members and prospective members. This position requires individuals to be focused on providing excellent customer service, be detail-oriented and have the ability to demonstrate multi-tasking using multiple computer systems and applications open on the desktop while retrieving information from one to complete fields in another. The Member Services Representative will be responsible for answering questions from members and prospective members regarding a wide range of topics including services available through HealthPartners, interpretation of health plan or dental plan benefits according to the member’s contract and specific situation and provide specific information regarding providers. You will access and work with multiple applications & computer screens to research & address these questions.
The Member Services Representative will investigate and assist in the resolution of member concerns regarding any service provided by or through HealthPartners, including payment of claims or prompt access to medical care and/or dental care. This will include coordinating issue resolution with other internal departments on behalf of the member.
The Member Services Representative will also provide information to Providers concerning their patient’s (member’s) coverage, network and benefits.
The Member Services Representative is the face of our organization to our patients and members when they are calling to inquire about questions that directly impact them. Our next class will be in April. We provide 5 weeks of paid training to set you up for success in this role!
Schedule/hours during training: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM After training schedule will be Monday through Friday 8:00am-5:00pm or 10:00am-7:00pm, depending on department need
Bachelor's degree or equivalent customer service experience involving complex, analytical problem-solving skills
Excellent time management and sound decision-making skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, continuously changing environment
PC proficiency with multiple systems/platforms
Experience working with people on the phone, preferably in a call center setting for an HMO, or in the insurance industry involving contact with patients or enrollees will receive priority consideration
