As part of the Government Affairs, Communication & Market Access department, the Strategic Market Access & Pricing Manager, leads the Pricing & Access strategy in Saudi. To do so, he/she must work in a cross-functional and matrix teams across GSK teams to lead alignment on pricing and access strategy for short and long-term sustainability and competitively of GSK business. The Strategic Market Access & Pricing Manager, is providing the organization with appropriate strategies and tools to monitor and address policy developments related to localization, privatization, and other policy changes which may impact Pricing and Access to GSK product (e.g. cost containment, pricing reference, price protection)
• Pricing and Access
o To drive Brand Access strategy through aligning Global strategy and evidence with Local dynamics
o To be an active member of Regional & Global Access forums
o To attend core Local brand teams to guarantee Access strategy is fully embed in Planning and Execution discussion
o To plan and to track implementation of cross-functional Access Plans for Innovative Brands
o Be the Pricing custodian at Saudi level, responsible for the implementation of the GSK Pricing strategy. Doing so, the Strategic Market Access & Pricing Manager, is the lead of the Saudi Pricing Committee
o Focus on pricing strategy for NPI launches.
o Business intelligence repository to manage critical factors like competitive positioning, patent loss, generic entry, IRP triggers (eg: Renewal, etc), new pricing regulations
o Work closely with Regulatory, Finance, Medical and Commercial team to provide price assumptions supporting budget planning and clarity behind Risk and Opps exercise
o Develops deep understanding of competitive market conditions that affect access and pricing for individual brands and overall industry.
o Ownership of data accuracy
• Policy Strategy
o Develop a comprehensive and updated overview of policies changes and trends which may impact pricing and access for patients to GSK portfolio.
o Foresee environmental changes and manage these changes effectively in a way that support GSK access & pricing strategy
o Develop GSK tactics to manage regional and local trends impacting pricing& access, which includes innovative solutions to protect pricing.
o Lead the development of GSK narrative around Pricing and Access for Saudi.
• External engagement
o Lead and ensure consistent engagement to establish GSK relationship with key government officials involved in pricing, access policy and decision on short- and long-term
o Engage with stakeholders at Gulf Cooperation Council level (incl. GHC) to assess policy developments and potential impact on pricing and access at country level.
o Develop and lead the implementation of engagement plan to increase external stakeholders trust
• Initiate capability building activities for the external facing teams to increase the awareness about the pricing, access process and ensure common understanding and alignment with commercial, regulatory and medical teams.
Why You?Basic qualifications:
• Minimum of 8 years experience in Access or Commercial roles in Saudi Arabia
• Area of Specialization Pharmacy, Public Health, Health Economy, Finance and Economy
• Strong experience in pricing projects
• Successful engagement with external stakeholders to support business objectives
• Strategic understanding of pricing and access policy on short- mid- and long-term perspective
• Proven Access experience in Public sector
• Proven experience in Pricing definition for Big Tenders or Country
• HEOR expertise
• Solid understanding of pricing systems and dynamic
• Maturity in engaging with external stakeholders
• Ability to balance commercial and public health elements
