We are seeking a highly motivated organic chemist to join our hit to lead medicinal chemistry group in Collegeville, PA. Our group partners with program teams across GSK’s therapy area units to deliver high quality small molecule starting points for lead optimization. The successful applicant will become fluent in hit to lead medicinal chemistry and hit identification tactics, while operating independently as a highly productive and knowledgeable synthetic chemist. Initial responsibilities will include the design and synthesis of improved analogs of screening hits. Where appropriate, the successful applicant may lead a small team in these chemistry efforts, and will also work closely with program leaders and screening scientists to advice on the hit selection and qualification process. The ability to communicate effectively is essential as the chemist will be interfacing with the multiple business partners in drug discovery.
