Denver Health Foundation has been accelerating the work of Denver Health & Hospital Authority for more than 20 years by securing philanthropic support and investments. Given the aspiring agenda of Denver Health, the Foundation is planning for the most ambitious fundraising campaign in the history of the organization. The Major Gifts Team, led by the Director of Major Gifts, will be essential to the success of this exercise. The Major Gifts Team will play a vital role in the success of the campaign by helping build and establish key relationships that will translate into significant financial commitments to the organization.
The Major Gifts Director reports to the Executive Director and leads all aspects of the major gifts program for Denver Health Foundation. As a member of the Denver Health Foundation Leadership Team, the Director of Major Gifts will work with the Executive Director of the Foundation to set the vision and direction of the Major Gifts Program. The Director will manage a team of Major Gifts Officers (MGO) in addition to managing their own portfolio of prospects. The primary objective of this team is to invest prospective donors in the vision of Denver Health and to develop long-term relationships built on a firm understanding of the donors’ interests, passions, and values and to secure financial investments as a result of these relationships.

1. Bachelor’s degree required. 2. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience 1. Nine years experience as a Major Gifts Officer required. 2. Three years in a supervisory or lead role required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule. 2. Excellent interpersonal skills. 3. Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple time sensitive projects. 4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 5. Proven record of successful fundraising. 6. Ability to work well under pressure.
Computers and Technology 1. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. 2. Knowledge of database programs.
