Education: Completion of necessary coursework to achieve one of the three levels of certification available to ophthalmic staff. (COA) (COT) (COMT). At a minimum COT required within six months of hire.
Experience: 1 year work experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: knowledge to administer patient care within scope of certification.
Certificate/License/Registration:: One of the three required.
COA – certified ophthalmic assistant
COT – certified ophthalmic technician – within six months of hire
COMT – certified ophthalmic medical technician
All Certifications and Licenses required for this job must be kept current as a condition of continued employment.
