The award-winning Country Inn & Suites-Mall of America is looking for a Laundry Supervisor for their Housekeeping team. The Laundry Supervisor will be responsible for the following:


1. Supervises and assists the Laundry department in ensuring the cleanliness of the hotel's linen supply
• Serves as the direct report for the Laundry Attendants
• Assists in managing the Laundry department's schedule
• Trains, coaches and re-directs Laundry Attendants as needed


2. Serves as the Laundry department liaison to the Executive Housekeeper and vendors
• Orders chemicals and other supplies for the Laundry department
• Communicates equipment malfunctions to Engineering and/or vendors
• Relays any announcements and/or changes to policy/procedures to the Laundry department
• Assists the Executive Housekeeper with Laundry personnel items (i.e. reviews, performance improvement plans, etc.)


3. Maintains the cleanliness of the hotel’s linen supply
• Sorts laundry prior to washing
• Pulls damaged and/or stained linen prior to loading the washers
• Loads washers and dryers to recommended weights
• Cleans and organizes linens
• Monitors usage of water to maximize consumption
• Informs the Executive Housekeeper of any equipment failures or supply shortage
• Folds linens and towels properly according to standard
• Restocks closets and storage areas
• Completes inventory of stock as requested


4. Adheres to and upholds hotel policies and procedures
• Maintains knowledge of and implements all department policies
• Ensures the cleanliness of laundry room
• Monitors department attendance
• Trains on the proper usage of equipment and chemicals in accordance with hotel’s safety procedures
• Leads the Laundry department in adhering to all health, sanitation and safety rules and procedures


5. Aligns with the "Be Our Guest" service standards to build and reinforce skills that create a lasting service culture that provides caring, comfortable and consistent experiences.
• Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing guest service
• Provides genuine hospitality and teamwork on an ongoing basis
• Performs other duties required to provide the service brand behavior and genuine hospitality



• GED or high school diploma preferred
• Experience working within a standardized hotel laundry facility
• Supervisory experience, preferably in a professional laundry/housekeeping environment
• Must be able to accurately follow and communicate verbal and written instructions
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Basic math skills, such as addition and subtraction
• Attention to detail and ability to follow and present instructions thoroughly
• Flexible schedule, ability to work shifts during the week and on holidays

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Proper lifting techniques required
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, pushing or pulling objects up to 100 pounds
• Ability to work under variable temperature conditions
