Position Summary:
Meets the requirements of physical therapist assistant. Serves as a role model in delivery of professional services and as a clinical resource for staff and students including the implementation of department, clinic, practice policies and procedures. The Lead will have responsibility for a focused specialty such as Orthopedics, neuro/spine, and sports and coordinate programming for designated clinical areas of emphasis. Will collaborate with the referring medical providers to set up best practices/protocols/access and outcome expectations. Set and implement guidelines for patient access in coordination with department supervisor. Monitor outcome data to support best practice. Report to leadership improvements/changes/project status for all areas of responsibility. Establish connections with physician leaders and clinic team leads for specialty area and meet minimum of quarterly. Mentor and provide accountability for team members for professional development, customer service, productivity goals.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Three (3) years of clinical experience, with two (2) of those years working at Carle in a clinical role preferred.
Essential Functions:
- Provides physical therapy treatments according to the physical therapist's treatment plan and patient presentation.
- Communicates with supervising therapist and staff regarding patient progress, problems or plans.
- Produces documentation in accordance with department/practice guidelines.
- Meets department standards for customer service and productivity.
- Communicates with other medical providers/team members.
- Uses support personnel according to legal standards and ethical guidelines. Monitors care delivered by support personnel and provides regular feedback.
- Actively participates in team, program, department assignments and meetings.
- Acts as a clinical instructor when assigned.
- Performs reporting and other duties as assigned to team leads/department manager/supervisor.
- Assists with the operations of facility or program; responsible for specialty area; involved with networking and program development; point person to help shift resources; clinical resource for complicated cases; other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor.
- Assists/mentors team members in their professional development, customer service, and productivity standards.
- Provides data/reports to department supervisor/manager.
- Liason with other medical providers.
