Position Summary:
The IT Desktop Engineer - Work as a team to document, implement, manage, and support Carle's physical and virtual desktop environments. They automate software deployment, as well as Windows Updates, and third party patches. They also develop, maintain, and provide detailed documentation for imaging and other processes. They work closely with Cybersecurity to implement security standards on the endpoints. They provide third level support on endpoint related issues.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Associate's Degree or Experience in Lieu of Education - Four (4) years of relevant IT experience is valid substitution for the Associate�s degree.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Driver's License.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Effective verbal and written communications skills. Ability to communicate effectively with professionals (i.e. physicians, administrators, etc.) as well as non-technical end users, both internal and external to Carle. Ability to work on projects both independently and in a team environment. Ability to troubleshoot issues within all aspects of endpoint management. Ability to deal with a rapid, fast-paced, and changing environment. Ability to manage and deliver multiple project phases at the same time, and balance ongoing operational issues with longer term strategic work.
Essential Functions:
- Maintains the integrity, availability, and uptime of Systems both virtual and physical, to ensure Carle can provide continuous world-class patient care.
- Develop, implement, maintain, and document physical and virtual endpoint infrastructure systems including endpoint management, patching, encryption, etc.
- Develop, implement, maintain, and document VDI images and ensure functionality of the pools.
- Develop, implement, maintain, and document endpoint images in SCCM as well as MDT.
- Provide documentation to support staff members for deploying images.
- Ensure image consistency and quality, and provide timely response when imaging issues arise.
- Develop, implement, maintain, and document group policies and login scripts as required for endpoint configuration and functionality.
- Develop, implement, maintain, and document application packages to automate software deployment to endpoints.
- Deploy application packages to endpoints, and/or make available in Software Center as requested.
- Develop, implement, maintain, and document third party patching systems.
- Automate third party patch deployments to endpoints.
- Develop, implement, maintain, and document Microsoft patch management systems.
- Automate Microsoft patch deployments to endpoints.
- Develop, implement, maintain, and document monitoring and alerting for all infrastructure systems supported by the IT Desktop Engineers.
- Obtain and maintain a strong knowledge of various automation, deployment, management, and reporting tools.
- Keep knowledge current with changing technology.
- Provide third level support on endpoint issues and serve as a technical resource for IT staff.
- Document and communicate new and updated procedures and standards developed for the endpoints.
- Implement endpoint security configurations and procedures as directed by Cybersecurity, Information Security, and Compliance.
- Work with Customer Support Center, IT Sys Admins, and other relevant staff to develop and maintain standard applications, and operating system configurations.
- Complete work requests, incidents, and projects in an effective and timely manner.
