Position Summary:
The Psychometrist performs formal psychological assessment with patients under the direction of a licensed Psychologist.

Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum bachelor's degree in psychology or related field; masters preferred

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of one year experience in a clinical or educational setting with children, adolescents and/or adults Knowledge of and/or experience with individually administered tests and assessments.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Must have necessary skills to give batteries of tests to a wide variety of individuals of all ages and abilities. Must continue learning and gaining skills with new testing materials. Must utilize good judgment in situations that will bring out the best outcome. Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines

Essential Functions:

  • Administers and scores various basic psychological assessments to patients ranging in age from infant through geriatric.
  • Communicates assessment process to patients and family members.
  • Selects appropriate avenues for learning and attends mandatory inservice program. Attains a minimum of 7 hours of continuing education per year.
  • Structures the assessments to adapt to patient needs and still maintain accurate results.
  • Performs psychological testing ordered and directed by psychologist.
  • Performs scoring for all testing given and accurately reports and records results.
  • Maintains and orders all testing supplies and new testing as needed.
  • Provides accurate and timely communication with health care team concerning patient testing results and outcomes.
  • Ability to quickly establish rapport with patient of various ages, backgrounds, skill levels and mental health issues.
