Job Description
Arm® is seeking highly motivated and creative undergraduates to join our software engineering teams as interns to gain experience of working in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, key technologies for the future of computing. Working on the cutting edge of Arm IP, you will be creating technology that powers the next generation of mobile apps, portable devices, home automation, smart cities, self-driving cars, and much more.
About the role
You will work with Arm's partners as they build sector-leading products from our designs. You’ll share ideas with and learn new skills from the best engineers in the world. We work in small teams, so your contributions will make a difference. This role offers you the opportunity to lead, challenge the status quo and ultimately change the world.
As an intern at Arm, you'll contribute to real projects that have real impact, while also building on key skills for your future studies and employment. We believe in developing talent, and therefore aim to offer many of our interns a graduate position once they have finished their studies.
Working on interesting new projects is exciting but we also know how important it is to receive support. That’s why your line manager will have regular 1 to 1 meetings with you to offer ongoing support, feedback and development opportunities. You will have a certain amount of flexibility and freedom in how you decide to complete your project tasks.
As well as being offered a competitive salary, there are also opportunities to get involved in some of the many social events that are organised within Arm.
What will I be accountable for?
In the ML platform software team, you would be designing, implementing and testing new software libraries for Arm CPUs and GPUs. These development tasks span the whole lifecycle; feature analysis, task breakdown, system design and implementation. Alternatively, you could be building the software driver for a new Arm neural network accelerator. Or investigating and reporting on trends in computer vision or audio processing, then using this data to project performance of future hardware designs.
More than anything else, you have a willingness to absorb as much as possible about this new frontier. Given the impact and reach of this field, you will be encouraged to share this knowledge with other engineers across the company. This is centred around promoting and demonstrating the Arm core beliefs.
