    About the role:

    Arm is looking for an enthusiastic upcoming college graduate, with a passion for software development, to help develop system-level solutions for cutting-edge applications. You will be based in Cambridge, UK and join a multi-disciplinary team working with state-of-the-art technology. There will be opportunity to develop a variety of skills with help and guidance from experienced engineers. You will work closely with the wider, global team located across various sites, including Lund (Sweden) and Shanghai (China).

    As part of Central Technology, you will integrate and demonstrate the capability of the latest Arm IP in various use cases, including those related to mobile, automotive, IoT and machine learning. This role involves working with development platforms, or simulated hardware environments, to develop and test features before the physical devices are built. You will become familiar with the software drivers, media frameworks, and operating systems in general. This role will present exciting new challenges as we help shape the future technology.

    Central Technology is responsible for researching and developing new technologies to be incorporated into future IP. We support business opportunities across a range of market segments and drive development within the product portfolio which includes CPU, Graphics, Image, Display and Video IP. In Central Technology you will be working alongside the best engineers in the world, making market leading products for the world’s most successful companies.     • On track to receive a University degree in Computer Science or Electronics Engineering (although other disciplines will be considered with relevant experience)
    • Competent C and/or C++ developer, including extra-curricular programming
    • An engineering mind-set with strong problem-solving and debugging skills
    • Practical, organized and analytical approach to work
    • Good oral/written English skills and and ability to communicate ideas effectively
    • A desire for learning and self-improvement
    • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills


    • Experience of software development for a commercial organization
    • Knowledge or experience of some of:
      • Operating system kernel or drivers
      • SoC memory subsystem principles (MMUs, caches, etc)
      • Application development
      • Graphics/compute APIs such as Vulkan, EGL, and GLES
      • Video codecs and display software frameworks
      • Android (graphics and media framework)
      • Linux
