Arm is looking for experienced “Research Software Engineer” who is passionate about working directly on research projects with computing centers in Europe. This position is for a fixed-term contract, until September 2021.
This position is for our office in the historical city of Warwick and just a few hops away from the vibrant town center of Leamington Spa. This role will involve up to 25% travels, primarily across the EU.
As part of H2020 research projects, the “Research Software Engineer for HPC Tools” is part of a focused development tools solution team. The successful candidate’s responsibility is to engage with research partners. In collaboration with a dedicated engineering team, you will investigate, refine, design and propose robust solutions to resolve cutting edge use cases, that span across existing and (potentially) completely new products to HPC end-users.
Within this role, you will sharpen your expertise, working on a diverse range of technical environments. You will gain an excellent knowledge of Arm’s development tools, alongside a deep understanding on Arm architecture and Arm’s intellectual property roadmap.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
In day-to-day work, you will be responsible for working alongside partners on H2020 projects. You will be providing in-depth technical support throughout the research cycle, from the research to the exploitation phases. You may be led to contribute to workshops and hackathons at project partners locations. Your consulting role will lead you to contribute to technical solutions of the highest order. A strong customer-oriented approach is required. You will be responsible to articulate customer use cases and requirements to the product management team, suggest new products or proof of concepts. You will work closely with a dedicated engineering team to implement novel solutions and help Arm turn these new ideas into products to resolve our customers’ technical challenges.
Leveraging your experience working with end-users, you will also be responsible for the creation of specialized technical materials such as research papers, whitepapers, case studies, blog posts, videos, etc. You will be expected to contribute to the research activities at conferences and events.
