    The Arm office in Manchester is situated in the centre of the city, a 5 minute walk from Piccadilly train station with nearby bus and tram transportation links. This exceptional design centre is one of the two UK based design hubs which houses a multitude of different groups all working on exciting technologies.

     

    Here in the Reference Systems Group, we design and verify the building blocks for these complex systems.

    In Reference Systems Design and Verification, you could:

    • Help to develop a block of complex system IP, central to the next generation of SoCs
    • Implement complex logic using Verilog to bridge a gap in a system
    • Verify a complex design, at many levels
    • Create the verification components required to thoroughly test all Arms IP blocks and systems


    Job Requirements



    Education & Qualifications

    You will preferably be a graduate from a University or Engineering School, in electronic engineering or computer science. Other science graduates would be considered if you have relevant experience.

    Enthusiasm for science and technology with especial reference to mobile computing, IoT and innovative engineering. The systems we are developing are challenging in both the area of hardware design and software. You will find that you are expected to find solutions where such a challenge presents itself so this will test your ingenuity and your ability to work in an autonomous manner.

     

    Essential Skills & Experience

    The essential skills for a candidate should include:

    • Excellent written and spoken English communication, capable of writing coherent reports, influencing and building consensus
    • Willingness to be flexible and accept new challenges
    • Knowledge of microprocessor, ASIC systems
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to express ideas and communicate effectively
    • Good inter-personal skills

     

    Desirable Skills & Experience

    These are nice to have skills:

    • Experience of Verilog, SystemVerilog or VHDL
    • Perl, Python or other scripting language
    • Familiarity of Unix/Linux working environment
    • High-level programming experience such as C/C++
