Arm has a superb opportunity for a Project Manager to lead a portfolio of projects within our growing CPU team. The role provides the central point of coordination for planning and delivery of software projects within Arm’s PLM process.
Responsibilities for this role will include:
Planning for the portfolio and projects contained therein. Maintenance of a coordinated portfolio delivery plan and project planning from feasibility through to approval.
Management of project initiation, resourcing, execution, delivery acceptance and close.
Delivery of projects to defined scope, cost, schedule and quality commitments through balancing risk, its mitigation and taking a coordinated approach to accommodating change.
Close coordination with the Technical Lead, Resource Managers, Product Manager, Project Management community and Programme Director.
Monitor and control portfolio and project delivery performance, taking necessary mitigation steps against arising issues and risks
Project alignment and coordination with interrelated projects.
Effective engagement and communication with a wide range of stakeholders, across Arm, partners and suppliers.
Essential skills and experience required:
Consistent record of performance as a Project Manager, with successful delivery of engineering projects throughout a complete lifecycle.
Ability to synthesise a coordinated project baseline with an engineering team, building plans both top down and bottom up.
Demonstrable experience of understanding the relationships between, and integration of, project cost, schedule, scope, quality, risk and resources.
Forward-looking and organised; an ability to anticipate and prepare for the future, bringing structure to plans and decision making.
Active risk management; understanding of risk and how risk might impact projects and be mitigated.
Experience of balancing change and performance variance throughout project delivery
Ability to efficiently engage and align an engineering team and concisely summarise complex technical issues in management terms.
Experience of subcontract management and development of new supplier capability and relationships.
You will have effective interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
Desirable skills and experience:
Ideally you will have an engineering background or experience in a technical role in a hardware and/or software development context.
You will have strong Project management skills and have a qualification from a recognised professional body such as Prince2, APM, PMP, etc.
You will be leading geographically diverse teams with multifaceted strengths and international customer and supplier relationships.
You will have a working knowledge of project management and collaboration toolsets such as Microsoft Project, Teams/Sharepoint and Jira.
To excel in this position you will have the following:
A good understanding of hardware and software development lifecycles/delivery methods such as waterfall and agile.
You will be comfortable with software configuration control methods, versioning and documentation tools
You are encouraged to be self-starting, creative, dynamic and flexible with excellent interpersonal skills and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Due to the nature of the work it is important that you want to succeed in a highly technical, goal / deadline orientated product development environment.
You have excellent verbal and written skills as there is frequent interaction with other members of the development team locally and in other parts of the world.
