    Job Description

    Would you like to learn to develop optimizing toolchains which improve the code that runs everywhere? Arm is looking for an internship candidate to join our world-class compiler team in Cambridge and contribute towards building the compilers and high-performance libraries that power billions of devices. You will join our established team, working on open source toolchain technologies, where you will collaborate with experienced colleagues on globally recognized projects.

    Working together with our team you will contribute changes to open source compilers, such as GCC and LLVM. Through your work you will improve these toolchains with a focus on enabling our partners to use Arm technology to its full potential.

    This opportunity will involve work on new technologies. You will be comfortable with learning new things, experimenting with different approaches, and ready to make a real difference to the performance of applications.

    Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

    • Learn how to build commercial and open source compilers and toolchains
    • Contribute toolchain improvements for Arm's partners
    • Contribute to the goals of our expert toolchain optimization team

    Job Requirements

    Essential Skills and Experience

    • Knowledge of programming in C/C++/Java.
    • An understanding of how to develop, test, and maintain production-quality software.
    • Dedicated and flexible, you are someone who is looking to develop new skills that you can apply across multiple types of work.

    Desirable aspirations

    • Looking to learn about open-source projects and how to work with an open-source community.
    • Interest in performance analysis and optimization.
    • Experience of development in a Linux environment.
    • Interest in compilers or high-performance mathematics routines

    Education & Qualifications:

    • You will be working towards a degree in Computing or Computer Science, or have other relevant experience that shows knowledge of compiler technology.
