    Join the Sophia CPU Performance Analysis and Modelling team !

    The CPU Modelling and Performance Analysis team is an international team of CPU experts. We cover all activities related to CPU performance in the design centre, from early microarchitectural investigations up to performance verification of the final product.


    We have a variety of internships to offer you. All selected subjects are highly challenging projects, requiring deep interest in advanced processor features, excellent knowledge of computer systems, strong analytic skills, and a high degree of autonomy and creativity.

    • [2020 – P1] – CPU performance analysis – Find the bottlenecks !
    • [2020 – P2] – Creation and correlation of an in-order CPU performance model
    • [2020 – P3] – CPU performance analysis – Enabling limit studies
    • [2020 – P7] – Evaluate instruction scheduling impact on a modern Out-of-Order processor
    • [2020 – P8] – Enabling CPU performance verification -  RTL vs model correlation

    Job Requirements

    Yours skills and qualification

    We are looking for students in their last year of Masters (BAC+5 or equivalent), in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent relevant field, and available for 5 to 6 months.

    We are looking for students with the following skills or experience:[LC1] 

    -        Use of UNIX and shell programming.

    -        Strong knowledge in C programming language.

    -        Ability to express ideas and communicate effectively.

    -        Fluency in English.

    Other desirable skills include:

    -         Microprocessor/CPU microarchitecture knowledge.

    -         Assembly language programming, ideally in Arm assembler.

    -         Knowledge of French.



    Salary – 1750 euros / month

    Lunch vouchers

    1 day off (authorized leave) / month


    Internship duration

    5 to 6 months

    About the office

    The staff at the Arm Sophia Antipolis design center is mostly focused on CPU design. Sophia Antipolis is a technology park that’s surrounded by a large national park, with wild boar that live within the city and can be seen strolling through the tech park. It’s conveniently located a quick 30 minute drive southwest of Nice, 45 minutes to Monaco, and only 20 minutes to Cannes.
