    Job Description

    The Application Engineer (AE) is a part of the Sales & Partner Enablement Group supporting customers of Arm products by providing timely, leading-edge knowledge through innovative services.

    As an Application Engineer you will be required to support customers bring efficient solutions to solve their technical challenges quickly by working closely with their engineers and our global engineers. You will be required to obtain an excellent knowledge of Arm's CPUs, System IPs, design tools and Arm architecture for supporting customer timely.

    Also you will be required to work closely with our Sales&Field Application Engineers (FAEs) to obtain customer requirements of new technology and will be required to prepare for launching customer project smoothly and reducing their time to market.

    [What will I be accountable for]

    - Providing technical expertise to customer with timely and accurate resolution

    - Work closely with the global AE teams and Arm's product engineering group to solve customer technical challenges

    - Take ownership of the supporting customer projects between the customer, our Sales&FAEs and the global AE teams

    - Building customer relationships including running meetings, communicating roadmaps and acting as their challenges to our global AE teams and Arm's product engineering group.

    - Work closely with Sales&FAEs to obtain customer requirements of new Arm products and acquire the technical knowledge of them for preparing the coming customer support.

    - Provide telephone call or on-site consulting and training when necessary

    - Simulating / investigating test scenario in order to reproduce and understand the customer's technical challenge

    - Create technical documentation and material to share the knowledge to internal global AE teams and Sales&FAEs

    - Participate in various projects as needed for product and process improvement

    - Review technical documentation, including application notes, technical reference manuals and training materials

    Job Requirements

    [Education & Qualifications]

    University degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent

    [Essential Skills & Experience]

    - 5 or more years experiences in designing or validation of SoC

    - A strong experience in designing with Verilog HDL and scripting with shell / python / perl / makefile

    - A strong experience in industry-standard EDA tools and methodologies

    - A good understanding of SoC design flow from chip architecture / chip design to silicon bring up

    - A good understanding of Linux / Unix system and commands

    - A good understanding of the interaction between software and hardware

    - Fluent in English communication (ie TOEIC 730) and native level Japanese

    [Desirable Skills & Experience]

    - Experience in integrating Arm CPU into SoC design

    - Experience in working closely with customers, providing technical support and training

    - Knowledge of Arm architecture and AMBA specification

    - Knowledge of system level SoC including CPU, Interconnect, Debug system and Peripherals

    - Knowledge of Arm security architectures such as Trustzone and Platform Security Architecture

    - Experience in prototyping system level design on FPGA

    - Experience in validating and debugging SoC on development board

    - Experience in coding with C/C++ and Arm assembler

    - Knowledge of Arm Binary Interface specification

    - Experience in designing with SystemC

    - Experience in working or studying experience in oversea

    The Arm Shin-Yokohama office has employees from the Sales, Partner Enablement, Marketing, R&D, Finance and IT departments.
