    About the role

    This is an extraordinary opportunity for you as an engineering manager, if you love to enable engineering teams. You'll be leading a strong team of memory design experts and developing them to the next level of high-performance.

    We are looking for a leader for a team developing SRAM memory compilers and fast cache instances for Arm cores. You will be making a difference with your experience in direct line management, attention to results, and commitment to quality in a high performance, dynamic environment.

    The Physical Design Group (PDG) is responsible for the design and delivery of Physical IP products (libraries, compilers) as well as SOC implementation solutions (POPs and Architect products). Your leadership will have a direct impact on how we develop and deliver physical IP products to our partners.

    What will I be accountable for?

    You will manage a team of memory design engineers. As an Arm manager you will be accountable for the following:

    • Ensuring that everyone on your team is engaged to produce the best for themselves and Arm
    • Connecting your team with the overall vision and strategy for Arm
    • Communicating and perpetuating the Arm Core Beliefs, Behaviors, and culture through leading by example
    • Developing the people you lead to achieve their full potential
    • Conducting regular discussions with all team members and the team as a whole
    • You will build an environment which encourages and enables collaborative innovation 

    In addition to your management accountabilities, you will have the following accountabilities related to scheduling and technical guidance:

    • You will work with the engineering team and project management to define schedules and highlight risks and issues
    • You are expected to provide technical direction, guide and sometimes make technical decisions for design, methodology, quality and PPA aspects of the products the team builds

    Job Requirements

    What skills, experience and qualifications do I need?

    • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) is required, with a Master's degree (MSEE) preferred
    • 10 years of relevant experience (for BSEE)
    • 8 years of relevant experience (for MSEE)
    • Experience in technical leadership, coaching and mentoring.
    • Experience leading memory design teams developing SRAM memories
    • Experience as a line manager
    • Excellent communication skills – including written communication, direct communication in a 1-1 environment, and presentation skills
    • An understanding of SRAM memory functionality with power, performance, area, and yield tradeoffs
    • An understanding of MOSFET electrical characteristics
    • Experience in low power circuit techniques
    • Good FinFet Circuit/Layout understanding with deep submicron technologies
    • Fundamental knowledge of technology trade-offs in deep sub-micron design

    Desirable Skills & Experience

    • Experience interacting with customers
    • Experience in crafting memory compilers
    • An understanding of transistor level device physics
    • Experience designing memory circuits including address decoders, word line drivers, and sense amplifiers
    • Experience implementing transistor level power management techniques
