    Arm’s Sophia Antipolis design centre, located in one of the most beautiful parts of France, at the heart of Europe’s largest and most dynamic technology park. Surrounded by mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, this exceptional design centre has delivered leading products from Arm’s Cortex (TM) processor family.

    We are the CPU Technology team, part of Arm Central Technology Group. This diverse, engineering centric group invents, defines and architects Technologies to be deployed in tomorrow's IP solutions from Arm. We pursue next-generation Arm CPUs, inventing new concepts that will fuel billions of devices worldwide, with a strong focus on Visual Computing and Augmented Reality.

    Job Requirements

    What are your responsibilities as a CPU Architect for Visual Compute?

    You help to build the future of Arm CPU Technology for Computer Vision, analysing Visual Compute algorithms and understanding the implications on the CPU micro-architecture.

    You invent new technologies to improve CPU performance or CPU power efficiency, you model these and transfer your knowledge to the CPU design teams. You get along with Software teams and the Arm Architecture group, help to improve the overall solution.

    What skills and qualifications do You need?

    • You graduated from a University or Engineering School, in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electronic / Electrical Engineering, or other related science
    • You have a bare minimum of 5 years of either software, hardware, or mathematic experience
    • You have a passion to innovate, think different, explore new avenues; you demonstrate enthusiasm, drive and diligence
    • You are able to work expertly alone as well as in a team environment
    • You speak fluent English

    Wich skills and experience are we expecting from you?

    • You have worked on advanced CPU micro-architecture
    • You have designed ISP systems
    • You have developed and optimised Computer Vision or Augmented Reality algorithms
    • You have good written and verbal interpersonal skills

    It would be useful if you have experience in one or more of:

    • Image signal processing specifically within augmented reality and/or automotive applications
    • Implementing odometry algorithms (e.g. SLAM)
    • Modelling with System-C, gem5 or similar environment

    About the office

    The staff at the Arm Sophia Antipolis design center is mostly focused on CPU design. Sophia Antipolis is a technology park that’s surrounded by a large national park, with wild boar that live within the city and can be seen strolling through the tech park. It’s conveniently located a quick 30 minute drive southwest of Nice, 45 minutes to Monaco, and only 20 minutes to Cannes.
