    About the role

    We have an excellent opportunity for an intern in our Infrastructure Software Ecosystem team. This opportunity is part-time and will be based in our Austin, TX office for Fall 2019. 

    You should have a good understanding of CPU and computer system architecture, in addition to being able to creatively combine technical prowess with analytical/business thinking to help define Arm’s software ecosystem strategy.

    Because we’re a small team, you’ll be able to make contributions in a wide number of areas and learn a lot very quickly.

    What will I be accountable for?

    You will be working on understanding Linux application source code and executable form to understand its level of optimization. This activity will include the following end goals:

    • Plan and develop code to analyze native applications on Linux to identify their level or optimization.
    • Scale the code to analysis thousands of applications on multiple architectures.
    • Plan and execute a large scale optimization survey of one or more Linux distributions using your tools.
    • Create compelling presentations on the results and conclusions of your work to inform ecosystem investment at Arm.
    Because this internship is part-time, we're only able to consider candidates residing locally in the Austin area.

    Job Requirements

    What skills, experience, and qualifications do I need?

    • Currently enrolled and pursuing a MS in the field of Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering with 3.5+ GPA.
    • Strong background in computer architecture and software optimization techniques.
    • A shown ability to think creatively, analyze critically, and communicate effectively with people form different disciplines in a global team environment.
    • Comfortable with Linux and proficient in Python (or similar language) and C.
