    Job Description

We are looking for someone to join our team to investigate, define, and champion changes to future Mali GPUs and related IP as well as APIs like Vulkan. You will approach the problem from a software, API, and use-cases perspective and work closely with hardware architects, driver development teams, and product management to identify existing challenges and future opportunities.

Arm's Central Technology organisation is responsible for early development selection of technology to keep Arm's products redefining the state-of-the-art. Are you passionate about the future of graphics technology? If yes, join us and help drive the technology forward!

What you will be accountable for

    • Investigating and evaluating improvements to the Mali GPU roadmap. This may include proposing architecture changes, doing high-level modelling of such changes, and drafting new API extensions.
    • Evaluating the impact of new graphics API proposals, such as extensions to the Vulkan, OpenGL ES, and OpenCL standards.
    • Providing guidance on GPU hardware and driver roadmaps.
    • Explaining our technology and plans to internal and external partners.

    Job Requirements

    Essential skills and experience

    • Hands-on experience using one more of the 3D graphics APIs (OpenGL ES, Vulkan, DirectX, Metal). You combine this with a good C++ development experience and know your way around tools, such as version control systems.
    • A deep understanding of GPU architectures and the workloads GPUs are likely to see, and thus what characteristics are important, in different scenarios such as gaming, XR, and machine learning.
    • You are self-motivated and ambitious, and have the ability to work as part of a team and to network across teams.
    • You have defined software APIs for internal use or for an industry standard.

At Arm, we are guided by our core beliefs that reflect our rare culture and guide our decisions, defining how we work together to defy ordinary and shape extraordinary:

    We not I

    Passion for progress

    • Our differences are our strength. Widen and mix up your network of connections.
    • Difficult things can take unexpected directions. Stick with it.
    • Make feedback positive and expansive, not negative and narrow.
    • The essence of progress is that it can’t stop. Grow with it and own your own progress.

    Be your brilliant self

    • Be quirky not egocentric.
    • Recognise the power in saying ‘I don’t know’.
    • Make trust our default position.
    • Hold strong opinions lightly.
