    About the role

    We are looking for a lead data scientist and machine learning algorithms researcher to join Arm’s research team. You will drive research and development of advanced machine learning algorithms and novel data analytics technologies. You will work closely with Arm’s cloud services organization, partners, and wider academia to identify promising nascent ideas and develop them into tomorrow’s key machine learning inspired systems, services, and solutions.

    What will I be accountable for?

    Arm Research plays a central role in identifying gaps in current technologies and in conducting world-leading research to fill those gaps. We are looking for an experienced machine learning research scientist to join our team. A preferred candidate will be a hands-on data scientist with deep theoretical and practical expertise in developing advanced machine learning models and algorithms. A preferred candidate will also possess strong software engineering skills and a solid understanding of quantitative fields such as statistical modeling and advanced optimization techniques.

    Your work will include advancing the state-of-the-art in machine learning algorithms for real-world use-cases such as computer vision, natural language processing, anomaly detection, asset optimization, and IoT time-series analysis. You will also be expected to identify challenges and opportunities in applying machine learning to new and emerging use-cases and demonstrating their business value through development of proof-of-concept systems. You will be encouraged to participate in the wider community through collaborations with academia, contributions to open source software, and publications and presentations in leading conferences and forums.

    Job Requirements

    What skills, experience, and qualifications do I need?

    • PhD in Computer Science or quantitative fields like Physics, Statistics, Operations Research.
    • A minimum of 10 years of work experience with at least 5 years in data science and machine learning technologies. 
    • In depth knowledge of machine learning algorithms such as unsupervised anomaly detection, pattern recognition, reinforcement learning, generative models, and time series data analysis.
    • In depth knowledge of neural networks and a solid understanding of recent advancements and trends in deep learning technologies
    • In depth knowledge of statistics and optimization theory and practice
    • Strong software engineering skills with expert level proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, C, C++
    • Expert level proficiency in at least one data analysis library and deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch
    • Prior experience developing machine learning models in an industrial production environment
    • Track record of published research work in leading conferences and forums
    • Excellent networking and communication skills
    • Strong leadership and big picture skills with prior experience leading projects from conception to delivery
