    About the Role

    The Field Applications Engineer (FAE) is an integral part of Arm Sales force collaborating with the Senior Field Applications Engineering Manager. You will team up with two or more Partner [Sales] managers by providing technical pre-sales support to develop and win new licensing, design-in and pull-through opportunities at your assigned Partners. Acting as a technical account manager, you will also be responsible for managing (but not performing) the post-sales support provided by the Applications Engineering team to your Partners.

    It is meaningful that you develop sound professional relationships with the key engineers, architects, and decision-makers. It is imperative to craft, report, and execute on key account strategies aimed at growing Arm’s business within these Partners.

    You will participate in defining new products or services to meet the needs of Arm customers and will be expected to maintain a high standard of technical knowledge in relation to Arm and its products, services, and competitors.

    What will I be accountable for?

    Work with Partner manager and take technical ownership of the sales processIdentify and exploit licensing and design win opportunities, including trends and provide guidance on market requirements.Work closely with the sales team to develop winning account strategies.Understand market trends and competitive landscapePresent and demonstrate technical details of Arm products and services to customers. These include:

    -Processor IP (including CPUs, platforms, debug & trace IP)
    -Fabric IP (including bus, systems IP and L2 cache controllers) and configuration/delivery tools
    -Graphics Processor
    -ML/CV [including hardware and software aspects
    -SW Development Tools (including IDE, debug and trace)
    -Physical IP (cell libraries, memories, IOs)

    Provide technical support in pre-sales opportunities as well as ownership of post-sales support process.Provide appropriate product recommendations to meet customer requirements.Provide system design expertise and first pass architectural planning for products in early design phase.

    Job Requirements

    What skills, experience and qualifications do I need?

    Full grasp of customer business and technical development plans. Sound personal relationships with key technical decision-makers at customers and a deep understanding of commercial relationships. High level of knowledge of Arm products and services.Development of positive relationships with assigned Partner managers, as well as Marketing, Engineering, and Applications Engineering teams.

    Technical Skills

    -Five years experience in digital design, software engineering, or applications engineering.
    -BS Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science--Master’s degree is a plus.
    -Strong working knowledge of microprocessors, SoC design, operating systems, systems software, HW/SW design process including relevant tools, boards and systems IP.
    -Understanding of Arm Cores, graphic processor, software tools, system IP, physical IP is preferred.
    -Any security knowledge and experience will be a plus.

    Commercial Skills

    -Dynamic, self-starting individual with the ability to excite and instill confidence in customers about Arm and Arm’s technology.
    -Good presentation skills, able to clearly express technical concepts.
    -Track record of successful customer engagements
    -Previous experience in a sales or marketing role is helpful.
    -FAE or customer interaction experience will put you ahead of the curve 
    -MBA degree is great to have

    -Infrequent travel to the UK also required.
