Within Arm’s IP Products (IPG) business unit, the Business Transformation group plays a central role in leading change programmes and we are investing to build the expertise and capability of the team.

    This role offers the ability to influence strategic direction, provides exposure to senior leadership, and the opportunity to lead and deliver on high-profile programmes. Your experience will let you confidently run one of our large programmes and be a key player within our programme leadership team. This is a high impact role responsible for the definition, planning, communication, and tracking of delivery for ten workstreams from across the global Arm organisation, to achieve the overall programme goals. You will rapidly gain a comprehensive understanding of the programme and the business context, and use that to effectively judge critical risks, issues, and dependencies and to identify any missing activities.

    The position reports to the VP Programmes within the IPG Business Transformation group. It is based in Cambridge and some global travel may be required.

    Accountabilities

    Programme Set-up

    • Provide recommendations and advice on how to best structure the management and governance of the programme
    • Facilitate the creation of workstream plans including identifying partners, defining outcomes, achievements, control gates, and planning workstream reviews (e.g. quality assurance, approval)

    Tracking & Reporting

    • Establish tracking and reporting mechanism with workstream leads to ensure high quality deliverables on time
    • Establish clear accountabilities for delivering objectives as planned
    • Assess and understand status of workstreams and brief Programme Director, ahead of weekly status meetings and as needed

    Risk & Issue Management

    • Review and analyse all risks & issues across workstreams and drive plans to mitigate them while raising major risks to the Programme Director

    Scope Management

    • Review programme change requests to ensure complete understanding of request and assess whether it is critical

    Programme Communication

    • Identify key people with an interest in the programme and develop relationships with them. Ensure they have the necessary engagement and participation in programme management activities
    • Decide on appropriate content, communication channels and reports needed to communicate effectively, and develop a communication plan across workstreams

    Resource Management

    • Support workstream owners to develop plans to identify resource needs for the duration of allocated workstreams, including people, budget and IT (software and hardware) resources as applicable
    • Call out workstream resource needs to the Programme Director

    Quality Assurance

    • Define clear review and approval procedures for all programme workstreams

    Job Requirements

    Skills, experience and qualifications

    • A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Business Management/Engineering or equivalent
    • Strong experience in project and programme management
    • Experience in mentoring and leading a large team of business functional experts to deliver change, including new or modified IT systems
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills (verbal and written) and relationship management capabilities
    • Proven skills in programme and project management tools and methodologies
