    Job Description

    This is an extraordinary opportunity for you as an engineering manager, if you love to enable engineering teams. You'll be working on ground-breaking digital and computing technology while leading a strong team of experts and developing them to the next level of high-performance.

    We are looking for a leader for a team of software engineers to create tooling for the development and delivery of software content and specification documents. You are making a difference with your experience in leading technical delivery, direct line management, attention to results, commitment to quality in a high performance dynamic environment.

    The Architecture Information Technology Group (AIG) is part of the Architecture Technology Engineering Group, which is a growing team involved in new exciting challenges. You will be able to help changing the way how computer architecture is going to be developed and shared with partners.

    You and your team work closely with other engineering managers, technical writers and Arm architects (both hardware and software) to understand and document Arm architecture.

    What will I be accountable for?

    • You will lead and develop a team and be responsible for the quality of their work and operational results.
    • The position is a line-management position including responsibility for personnel according to UK workplace legislation, with duties such as staff performance management, competence development, capacity management, salary setting, etc.
    • You will collect and maintain high level portfolio requirements as well as liaising with key partners, revising and improving processes within the SW development team.
    • You are expected to provide technical direction, guide and sometimes make the technical decisions for design, methodology, quality and performance-aspects of the software/tooling the team builds.

    Job Requirements

    What skills, experience, and qualifications do I need?

    • You lead by example with a deep understanding development practices, agile and waterfall project management methodologies, QA processes etc.
    • You have experience with Linux Device Drivers and embedded software development, specifically Real Time OS and hardware evaluation.
    • Experience in technical leadership, coaching and mentoring. You communicate solutions for complicated technical problems clearly to both team members and partners.
    • You have deep understanding of software development and knowledge of at least 2 of the following areas: C/C++, Python, XML, Java, JSON, compilers optimization and code generation.
    • Knowledge of CPU Architecture, CPU System Architecture including OS and firmware, and specifically about Arm Architecture would help you to be successful in this role.
