    About the role

    Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) has become a key part of Arm’s growth strategy in order to accelerate our core capabilities. Following the recent creation of a dedicated M&A function within Finance, we are seeking an extraordinary individual to help drive deal support and execute on finance integration efforts on future M&A transactions.

    The Sr. Finance Manager, M&A will be a dedicated resource for all UK M&A and will reside within the Finance team.  This individual will act as a single point of contact from deal structure through integration execution and will work hand in hand with Corporate Development, the Integration Management Office, the target company and the rest of finance.   They will support structuring of definitive purchase agreements, lead due diligence, and project manage the finance sub-teams.  They will be dedicated full-time to this role from when engagement begins at deal structure into integration planning through integration execution.   They will provide subject matter expertise for the financial functions and represent finance cross-functionally.

    Specific accountabilities

    • Lead the UK M&A team and be responsible for executing all aspects of Arm’s Finance M&A process for UK based transactions, enabling maximum value capture from deal structure through successful integration of the business into Arm
    • Lead financial due diligence of target companies in order to evaluate key risks and validate synergies for Arm and to assess finance integration challenges
    • Coordinate closely with Strategy, Corporate Development, and the Integration Management Office to provide an end-to-end solution
    • Ensure the company applies consistency and best practice to the Finance M&A approach, enabling the acquired target to be successfully integrated and measured, ensuring all learnings are captured and utilized to enhance the process
    • Develop and strengthen relationships across all areas of Arm, partnering with sponsoring business units and other functional workstream leads to architect value-based integration strategies and ensure integrations are planned and executed effectively
    • Drive day-to-day execution of the overall Finance integration process, including project managing cross-functional teams in tax, reporting, accounting, etc. to ensure integration plans remain relevant and are being executed in a timely manner
    • Identify, aid in the resolution, and escalate program issues when necessary
    • Drive continuous improvement by incorporating feedback and lessons learned into updated integration processes and tools for application on future acquisitions
    • Enable “best in class” global Finance M&A process for Arm

    Job Requirements

    Required skills:

    • Qualified or near-qualified accountant
    • Significant and demonstrable experience of M&A and change programs within a financial context
    • Proven track record of leading a Finance or related team within a high profile, fast moving business across multiple markets
    • Interpersonal skills to be able to influence and act at all levels across Arm including Executive Committee level
    • Strong leadership skills, able to inspire, coach and motivate a team, and to maintain a wide range of relationships across Arm and the industry sector as required
    • Thought leader and not a list checker
    • Has a high level of organizational agility, business acumen, ability to work through others and a drive to deliver results
    • Exhibit strong understanding of M&A best practices and be able to quickly build a deep understanding of Arm’s current business from a cultural as well as operational perspective
    • Ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport with key stakeholders and work well in a highly collaborative environment
    • Strong management and communication skills to facilitate meetings and articulate complex concepts
    • Ability to track and follow-up with multiple stakeholders, ensure timely deliverables, and resolve issues and address key decisions
    • Effective change manager, attention to detail (without getting stuck in the weeds), problem solver, enthusiastic, assertive, and willing to be hands on
    • Ability to work flexible working hours due to global M&A and occasionally maintain extended work hours during critical project times
