The Mathematics and Computer Science Division at Argonne National Laboratory seeks a well-prepared postdoctoral appointee to develop, analyze, and implement methods at the intersection of optimization, probability/statistics, and quantum computing.This opening is available immediately, but there is flexibility in start dates.
Candidates should have a doctoral degree and expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Other knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Nonlinear optimization, including mixed-integer, multiobjective, stochastic/robust, PDE-constrained, simulation-based, dynamics, derivative-free, and parallel/concurrent optimization, Stochastic processes and statistics, Quantum computing and quantum information theory
- Programming expertise in C, Python, Fortran, or another programming language is highly desirable
- Experience with parallel computing, including MPI, OpenMP, or CUDA is desired
- Experience with quantum computing is desired, but not necessary.
