Specialty Metal Products (SMP) is a business unit with the Engineered Materials, Interconnects, and Packaging (EMIP) Division of AMETEK. SMP supplies Precision Tube, Specialty Strip, and Specialty Powder into multiple end-use markets. Those markets include Aerospace, Defense, Medical, Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Electronics, and Automotive.
The Vice President & Business Unit Manager for SMP is responsible for establishing and leading a high performing team in the creation and deployment of SMP’s strategy. The goal for the successful candidate will be to consistently deliver meaningful improvements in safety, revenue, profitability, working capital, and throughput on selected constraints across the division.
Specific expectations include:
•Achieve an injury-free workplace.
•Full P&L responsibility for the SMP BU consisting of five manufacturing plants; 3 in Pennsylvania, one in CT, and one in Plymouth, UK.
•Responsible for all safety, commercial, technical, finance, HR, and supply chain activities.
•Responsible for operating performance, e.g. sales, profit, working capital, on-time delivery, planning, scheduling, materials management, etc.
•Successfully lead day-to-day tactical as well as long-term strategic activities within the business
•Improve factory performance through continued implementation of lean tools to improve quality, yield, on-time performance, and profitability.
•Responsible for meeting financial commitments, providing the resources necessary to grow, and executing on a strategy to reduce costs and improve profitability.
•Assist in strategic acquisition strategy and execution.
•Identify, on-board, develop, and retain future leaders.
AMETEK seeks a P&L leader capable of delivering business commitments with a sense of urgency. Specific experiences required or desired include:
•A minimum of 10 years in a leadership role in a specialty metals, aerospace, or defense manufacturing business. Technical competency, commercial skill, and financial acumen are required attributes for this position. P&L experience of at least $100 million is a plus.

•Proposing, negotiating, winning, and successfully executing business in aerospace, defense, or medical end use markets. Meaningful experience with high performance titanium and nickel alloys is preferred.

•Leading a business with multiple manufacturing sites in the US and abroad.
