Electronic Instruments - a leader in the design and manufacture of advanced instruments for the aerospace, power, process and industrial markets.
Electromechanical - a differentiated supplier of electrical interconnects, precision motion control solutions, specialty metals, thermal management systems, and floor care and specialty motors.
This role is within the Instrumentation and Specialty Control's Brookfield Engineering Business unit.
Viscometers, rheometers, texture analyzers and powder flow testers used in R&D, QC and inline applications for rheological fluid analysis, tension/compression analysis and powder flow analysis. Markets include food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, personal care products, adhesives, printing inks and coatings, paper coatings, chemicals, packaging, plastics, construction materials, and asphalt.
Associate Engineers will work as Engineers, with additional oversight and guidance from the Engineering Manager and Senior Engineers as appropriate for specific assignments. This position is appropriate to new-hire engineers and staff who are degreed engineers or equivalent, who are gaining practical work experience in this field.
Associate Engineers will have a personal development plan that enhances skills and emphasizes experience to lead to promotion to an Engineering position. The time frame and details are developed by the Engineering Manager, and need to be shared with Human Resources and the employee
Apply Engineering fundamentals to design and develop problems. Organize information and perform analysis for degree area and apply sound engineering judgment.
Assist in the design and development of SEPs and engineering projects for new and existing products. Identify new designs, methods or processes to reduce cost and improve quality. Associate Engineers will be given a lead role on projects and SEPs with appropriate scope.
Develop and execute test plans and analyze data to support design decisions and verify designs.
Support the preparation of drawings, documentation, and the purchase of parts and material.
Assist in the selection of manufacturing process and the preparation of routings.
Provide technical support to vendors, and manufacturing and assembly departments, and assist with the resolution of problems and questions as required.
Present project status and design reviews; part of development plan.
Investigate and take corrective action in response to customer satisfaction issues (CSIs) and material discrepancy reports (MDRs).
Demonstrate the ability to manage projects, delegating tasks and managing the delivery time line by understanding the crucial path activities on the project and mitigating risk.
Develop specific skills/competencies for job-related tasks: erg. compliance, CAD software, etc.
Work with Sales to develop Specifications.
Demonstrative problem solving skills and engineering judgment, scope of problems and responsibilities to be set by Engineering Manager, Senior Engineers.
Develop familiarity with Quality Procedures, Documentation and record keeping.
