Position Description:
Ametek Power Instruments is seeking a Product Manager for the Revenue Metering, Power Measurement and Alarm Monitoring Product Lines.

Position Summary:
The Product Manager has P&L accountability and is responsible for the concept to end-of life product management activities for the assigned product lines. This includes defining product features and options, providing competitive analyses, properly positioning and promoting products in the market and coordinating, as necessary, product continuous improvement or corrective actions.

This role requires working closely with engineering, operations, sales, marketing and customer support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager also ensures that the product supports the company’s overall strategy and goals.

Responsibilities:

•Development and execution of product strategy and roadmap
•Being a commercial and technical expert for the product lines
•Spearheading market research on targeted industries, applications or regions to identify growth opportunities
•Collection and analysis of voice of customer
•Creation of marketing/product specification for new product development or product enhancements
•Development of financial justification based on projected development cost, engineering opportunity costs and sales forecast
•Setting product pricing and margin expectations
•Support the creation of product documentation and instruction manuals
•Development of the core positioning and messaging for the product
•Creation of product launch package to include ads, sales training materials, sales tools, competitive analysis, press releases, marketing collateral, etc.
•Training of the sales channel and customer service groups
•Performing technical sales presentations, product demonstrations and training with customers
•Supporting the marketing team in the development of digital marketing campaigns
•Providing input to the annual budgeting process
•Assisting engineering and operations in annual product cost reduction initiatives
•Working with the sales team to identify and acquire new accounts

Position Requirements:
The ideal candidate for the Product Manager position will have the following educational background and experience:

• BSEE (or other relevant technical degree, Electrical degree preferred)
•Minimum of 5 years of technical product management experience (Electric Utility, Revenue Metering or Power Measurement preferred).
•Demonstrated success defining and launching new products.
•Strong analytical ability and data orientated, balanced with an ability to draw a conclusion and act.
•Engineering design experience very helpful.
•Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
•Experience with all Microsoft Office tools.
•A demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed and independent manner, prioritizing work appropriately.
•Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
•A demonstrated ability to work effectively in an influential management role.
•Travel up to 30-50%.
