Position Description:

The RF Amplifier Design Engineer reports to the Head of Head of Amplifier Development developing Low Frequency (<1GHz) Power Amplifiers.

Your primary tasks:
• Design and test power amplifier modules
• Design and test fast analog control circuitry
• Draw schematics, BOM’s, PCB layouts and create test procedures for new designs
• Simulate power amplifier designs with Cadence Microwave Office
• Design of Ferrite Transformers and Baluns
• Participate in the Critical Design Review process
• Give assistance and support to the production team
• Work closely with mechanical and electronic engineers

Position Requirements:
• Must have a Bachelors or Masters Degree in RF or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the RF and Microwave field
• Experience with Cadence Microwave Office and/or Keysight ADS
• Layout based on MWO or Altium
• Be familiar with high power amplifier thermal management techniques
• Understands the value of, and is able to produce, high quality documentation
• Able to quickly learn new skills and technology
• Maintains a constructive positive attitude in challenging situations
• Operates effectively under pressure and delivers to agreed timescales
• Good team player, interested in and able to communicate with other engineering disciplines
