SCHEDULE: This is a field-exempt position that requires either a 7-day on/7-day off schedule for Valdez or a 14-day on/14-day off schedule for the pipeline.

Under general direction of the EP&R Supervisors, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance, program managment and performance monitoring of state and federal laws and regulations relevent to oil spill prevention, environmental stewardship, personnel and equipment preparedness and safe operations of the Trans Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS).
Accountabilities for each area include work permitting, contractor operations and safety performance oversight, marine shipping operations scheduling, conducting training and response exercises in field or as member of incident management team, equipment reliability and maintenance, equipment lifecycle replacement, ensuring response readiness of equipment and personnel at all times, and Operational Discipline.
EP&R SERVS: Under general direction of the SERVS Operations Supervisor, the successful candidate(s) will be exposed to and show mastery of maintenance and operations activities to ensure integrity of SERVS operational mission to prevent and respond to Prince William Sound, VMT, and Pipeline oil spill emergencies. Train to become a Group supervisor/Task Force Leader for field deployment drills and response at PWS, VMT, and Pipeline areas. Gain knowledge of Open Water, Nearshore, Duty Office, Non-mechanical response, Tug and towing operations, Lightering, Hatcheries, Sensitive Areas, Response Centers, SERVS Base, VMT, or Pipeline.
EP&R Pipeline: Under general direction of the Pipeline Operations Supervisor, this position directs emergency response personnel in oil spills and natural disasters, leads source control and repair activities and makes decisions affecting the integrity and operation of the TAPS. This position also develops, manages and executes a wide range of company programs, plans, policies and procedures and acts as a subject mater expert to Alyeska managers, contractors and field personnel on the following.
- Oil spill prevention, strategies, tactics, detection methods and countermeasures.
- Source Control equipment and Pipeline mainline clamp application.
- Oil spill equipment capability, limitations, usage, maintenance, and available statewide oil spill resources.
- Incident Command System procedures and organization.
- Oil Spill Contingency Plan Training modules and responder qualifications.
- Right of Way Management Information System program functionality, usage, and maintenance.
MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant must meet or exceed these minimum job requirements to apply for this position.
- Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, or a related field *
- Two (2) years of experience in emergency response or disaster management
- Knowledge in emergency management or related
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- * Additional related experience may be substituted for the education requirement
PREFERENCES:
- Experience with processes and systems in oil spill tactics and strategies
- Familiarity with APSC policies, procedures, and culture
- Experience in Oracle Work Management Systems
