Accountabilities and Specific Requirements:
WORK LOCATION:  Anchorage

SCHEDULE:  This is a regular non-exempt  Anchorage based position on an urban schedule of a 40-hour week or 9/80-work schedule.

BAND:  HJ/HK

Under general direction of the Engineering Services Supervisor, the Drafter is accountableforthe following: 

  • Wide variety of complex drafting assignments using electronic drafting tools to produce legible drawings under minimal supervision.   

  • AutoCAD drawings from post-construction redlines; create design drawings/sketches as requested; utilize Alyeska's AutoCAD block attributes to support metadata extraction; interpret metadata extraction reports and resolve required errors.  

  • Manage Documents and Drawing Management System (DDMS) drafter workflow steps 

  • Print hard copies of completed drawings as needed. 

  • Travel to field locations to update hard copy files of completed work and document field conditions as required

MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Applicant must meet or exceed these minimum job requirements to apply for this position.

  • Two Year degree in Business or related area 
  • Two years of direct or related experience 
  • AutoCAD experience  
  • Microsoft Office suite elements such as Word, Excel, and Outlook 
  • Adobe Acrobat Standard 
  • Strong experience, skills, and knowledge in specific area of expertise 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong customer service skills and business acumen 
*Note: Additional related experience may be substituted for the education requirement. 

PREFERENCES:

  • Two-year degree in engineering or related area 
  • The ability to create 3D drawings 
  • Five (5) years direct or related experience  
  • Advanced user in MicrosoftOffice Suite.  

Position Description:
This role supports APSC with AutoCAD drafting needs in support of work completion: creating AutoCAD drawings from post construction redlines, creating design drawings/sketches as requested in support of Engineering, printing hard copies of completed drawings & supporting field locations.
