In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Under the supervision of the Clinic Coordinator providing support/wellness recovery services to peers (consumers of mental health services and their family members/caregivers) in the Outpatient Center
  • Using personal recovery experiences to facilitate patients' engagement in recovery
  • Contributing to the training and supervision of volunteers as requested by the department director or designee
  • This position requires providing service to the adult age population in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served

If you possess the following qualifications, please apply immediately:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience as a consumer of services for a serious mental illness required
  • Maintained a job or volunteer position for at least 12 months within the past three years or have earned 24 post-secondary education credits required
  • Certification as a Peer Specialist in the state of Pennsylvania required
  • Certification as a WRAP Facilitator required

Physical Demands:
  • Physical Requirements: Lifting light to moderate weight equipment, mild gross motor arm and leg movement, fine motor movement used when demonstrating use of modalities. Light lifting of files and equipment up to 20 lbs. Verbal and writing skills required to process and communicate treatment issues with patients and treatment teams
  • Visual Requirements: Fine and gross vision needed to observe patients' artwork and performance in group settings and monitor use of equipment
  • Hearing Requirements: Being able to recognize patients' verbalizations and other responses to treatment interventions, often this is through hearing patients' words, but can be through visual recognition of patients' communication
  • Working Conditions: Indoors with uneven heating conditions. Office space, telephone and computer access provided
