Accountabilities and Specific Requirements:
WORK LOCATION: Anchorage or Valdez
SCHEDULE: This is a regular exempt based position on an urban schedule of a 40-hour week or 9/80-work schedule. Periodic travel to Fairbanks, Pump Stations, and the Pipeline Right-of-Way will be required. May be required to assist in issue resolution at any point in a 24-hour period.

Under the general direction of Systemwide Maintenance Manager, the Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of assigned projects, including design, development, front-end loading (FEL), procurement, contracting, implementation and turnover to Operations, and is accountable for the following:
Project management, engineering, operations and maintenance, and negotiation and management of major contracts and agreements. This position requires demonstrated ability to execute complex projects in the Oil & Gas industries. Incumbent must have excellent leadership, management and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple diverse projects that could be electrical, mechanical, piping, SCADA, instrument, automation, IT or a combination of any or all of these.
Decision Making
- Determines project implementation strategy
- Resolves technical and regulatory issues to achieve project completion
- Establishes contracting strategy and selects contractors appropriate for the work
- Leads Front-End Loading (FEL) and Constructability Reviews, and acts as a facilitator for Project activities
- Opportunity to develop / specify new products and standards based on evolving business strategy
Major Deliverables
The successful candidate for this position must possess proven skills, abilities, and application knowledge to accomplish the following:
- Manages overall project(s) to achieve scope within budget and schedule requirements.
- Negotiates and manages engineering, procurement, and construction contracts.
- Provides direction to engineering, project controls personnel, contractors, construction supervisors and inspectors.
- Coordinates with the overall projects team and other Alyeska departments
- Provides periodic updates and progress reports to Alyeska management (including primary clients), TAPS Owners, and regulators.
- Ensures identification of, and compliance with, company, code, and regulatory requirements
MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant must meet or exceed these minimum job requirements to apply for this position.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
- Minimum of 5 years direct experience in managing mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, automation, SCADA, and control system projects
- Broad knowledge and experience in project management, engineering, design, construction, project planning & scheduling, project controls, cost estimating, and negotiation and management of major contracts. Ability to providing technical guidance to staff and supervisors
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Proven record of managerial success

PREFERENCES:
- 10 years of experience in managing diverse suite of projects including mechanical, civil, electrical, instrumentation, automation, SCADA and control system projects
- Pipeline / Oil and Gas experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license and/or Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Advanced planning skills and appreciation for proactive business decision-making
- Broad safety leadership skills as it relates to projects, process safety, and construction contractor management
- Experience with enterprise IT system hardware, and advanced software optimization and implementation
- Strong track history of stakeholder engagement and management with effective communication skills
Position Description:
This position is responsible for overseeing the inital development and design for TAPS modifications including procurement, contracting, construction, start-up, and turnover to Operations. This position requires demonstrated project management skills and technical knowledge relevant to design and construction. Incumbent must have excellent leadership, management, and communication skills. Ensures work activities are accomplished in a safe, efficient manner through upfront planning with engineering and procurement resources, as well as managing implementation contractors for timely deployment of resources.
