BSA Gourmet is the Patient Nutrition Services department room service program that serves the patients in the hospital. BSA Gourmet offers a variety of both upscale and homestyle choices that are freshly prepared and delivered to the patients' room in a timely manner. The Patient Nutrition Service department consists of employees in different roles working together to ensure the quality of food and service to the patients is excellent. The BSA Gourmet service is available from 6:30am – 7pm with breakfast at 6:30am and lunch at 11am.
The dishwasher is responsible for cleaning, stacking dishes and pans. Operate commercial dishwashing machine to clean and sanitize pots and pans. Responsible for replenishing dishes and pans and assures dishes, pots, pans and utensils are scraped and clean and put away on tray line and serving areas. Perform cleanup at end of shift to include sweeping, mopping and sanitizing work area.
Licenses and Certifications:
High school diploma or GED is preferred
Safe serve certification a plus
Previous food service or restaurant experience is strongly preferred
Must be able to stand for 90% of shift and tolerate noisy dish room environment
Must be able to read, write and speak English
Knowledge of food preparation and principles of sanitation
Knowledge of basic food service equipment and retrieves soiled meal cart from nursing units
Self-motivated, outgoing, high energy individual and ability to communicate effectively with other team members
Ability to multi-task constantly and tolerate interruptions
