Position Description:

Panhandle Surgical Hospital is partnered with BSA Health System to provide two surgical facilities which include Quail Creek Surgical Hospital in Amarillo. Each hospital combines the latest technology with a warm and caring staff specializing in surgical services. Physicians Surgical Hospital is unique because it is owned and operated by physicians in an affiliation with BSA Health System.

 Job Summary:
Responsible to assist with processing surgical instruments and supplies so they are ready for use by the surgical team and other departments within the hospital system.

Position Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent
CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate


Previous hospital or medical experience in sterile processing highly desired
Basic Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
Previous employment or volunteer opportunities to deliver exceptional customer service techniques
Attention to detail required to learn instrument sterilization and equipment
Position requires a self-motivated individual able to take directions and work in a fast-paced environment
Physical agility required to push/pull 200 lbs., lift up to 50 lbs., carry instrument trays 30+ lbs and must be able to walk/stand 90% of the shift
Ability to demonstrate good work ethics, strong communication skills, and excellent customer service
