Specializes in the diagnosis, medical management, and surgical treatment of patients with diseases of the heart and lungs. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Identifies need for tests or follow-up visits. Reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Physician will participate in ASG Call and participate in the BSA ER Surgical Call Schedule. Work collaboratively with BSA Administration to achieve patient care goals.
Current Medical Licensure from the State of Texas Medical Board
Completion of Residency in General Surgery
Board Eligible/Board Certified General Surgeon
Current BLS certification
Current ACLS certification
Preference will be given to individuals with previous similar clinic experience
Must exhibit desire to exemplify the BSA culture, including the BSA Mission, Vision and the BSA Way.
Strong communication skills including: Fluency in English language to function in job environment appropriately, ability to read and understand English language, Bilingual/Spanish
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with customers and healthcare professionals at all levels
Legible writing skills and penmanship in English language
Ability to work in Electronic Health Record
Good organizational and follow-through skills
Demonstrates strong leadership skills
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to rapidly changing situations
Must be able to quickly evaluate and assess patient conditions and develop appropriate treatment plan.
Ability to deal with employees, patients, physicians and visitors in stressful situations
Must be well versed in HIPAA laws and keep patient documentation and information confidential
Ability to multi-task constantly and tolerate interruptions
Ability to function in an occasionally hostile environment with patients/customers who are ill or hurt
Must be willing to work as part of a cohesive medical team to care for patients and deliver exceptional customer service
