The Dining Center of BSA Health System offers eight food stations serving Mexican, Asian, American food and much more. The Dining Center hours are 6am – 10:15am for breakfast and 11am – 11pm for lunch and dinner. The Dining Center is open every day including holidays and weekends. The Dining Center serves patients, family members, employees, guests and all customers.
Prepares food according to daily production sheets. Follows department sanitation guidelines. Uses kitchen equipment. Follows standarized recipes. Any other duties: as required.
High School diploma or GED preferred
Valid Texas driver's license
Two years prior restaurant/institutional food services batch cooking experience preferred
Knowledge of food preparation/handling and principles of sanitation
Hiring preference may be given to those with institutional cooking/culinary background
Must exhibit desire to exemplify the BSA Culture, including the BSA Mission, Vision, and the BSA Way
Position requires fluency in English language to function in job environment appropriately
Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations
Good verbal, leadership, organizational and follow through skills
Ability to accurately follow recipes for batch cooking and spreadsheets
Operation of major institutional kitchen equipment including but not limited to broiler, large mixer, convection ovens, gas stove tops, grill tops, electronic fryolators, conventional ovens, multiple steamers, large and small steam kettles, tilt skillets, meat slicer and measuring scales. Use of thermometer.
