IBM Research, Almaden. CA: Internships available for qualified and motivated graduate students to join a variety of research projects. Storage Systems at IBM’s Almaden Research Center explores and develops new technology in storage systems, enterprise systems management, file systems, and high-performance storage software. Research projects range from advanced scalable storage controllers, autonomic server/network/storage management, self-configuring high-performance cluster file systems to explorative projects (adding intelligence for data management within storage system, exploring techniques for increased resiliency/reliability of storage controllers, building storage systems based on non-volatile storage class memories). The typical research group consists of a researchers and engineers, with PhD/Masters Degrees in Computer Science. Exposure in performance evaluation, kernel programming, distributed and storage systems preferred.
