The Assistant Technical Editor at the entry level uses standard proofing, copyediting, indexing, and production techniques to assist the technical editors in preparing documents for the external and internal paper publications prepared in the three research divisions and for their intranet web sites.
Required: Thorough knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax; familiarity with editorial and proofreading techniques; ability to work with standard software for desktop publishing and electronic information management; ability to work effectively as part of a team. Also requires good interpersonal and organizational skills.
Desired: Familiarity with economics and the Federal Reserve.
Work involves copyediting and proofreading text, tables, and graphics; preparing references and indexes; executing routine computer programs used to prepare tables and other automation and administrative duties. The work involves materials prepared for internal and external documents, including research papers, materials on monetary and regulatory policies, and reports to the Congress.
