Performs legal research and analysis regarding consumer financial services and fair lending laws for which the Board has responsibility, including laws such as the Truth in Lending Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Electronic Fund Transfer Act, and Home Mortgage Disclosure Act. Prepares staff memoranda, regulatory amendments, and interpretations; responds to inquiries from the public, the Congress, and government agencies; and analyzes proposed legislation. Participates in intra- and inter-agency discussions and rulemakings.
This position requires a law degree and bar membership. A minimum of two years legal experience is required. Additional practical knowledge of the financial services industry is desirable. Candidates with directly related legal experience in consumer financial services preferred.
