Essential Functions:
|
The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis has an opportunity for an experienced J2EE Developer in our FedACH Department. FedACH Development develops, supports and maintains a software that processes payments files exchanged by FedACH customers through the Federal Reserve. This software has processed millions of payments daily since 1995 and must continue to evolve to accommodate changes in business and technology.
On a complex critical development team, the focus is on integration of file transport utility with J2EE transaction and information services applications. Agile methodology, pair programming in a collaborative work environment and iterative development with high level of team interaction. Build transactional services interface and integrate it with the file transport functionality. Engineer handoff of information from file transport utility to the information services application. Develop software on WebSphere/Eclipse/J2EE platform and develop software on file transport utility platform. Estimate, track and report status.
Subject to on-call rotation every 14-15 weeks.

Requirements:
|
Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience to equal 4 years. Prefer degree in computer science, MIS, or related field.
Six years of highly complex information services experience (8 years required for level IV) including at least three years J2EE development and two years Unix platform experience.
2-4 years of OO design and methodology experience.
Experience designing solutions crossing multiple platforms and technologies in an enterprise environment requiring integration between mainframe and distributed platforms.
Collaborative development and excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate complex technical topics to nontechnical audience.
Experience implementing software and architectural design patterns.
Experience resolving complex system problems in team setting, including evaluation of options to determine optimal solution.
Excellent analytical skills.
WebSphere experience is strongly preferred.
