Job Summary Seeking results driven Liability Trial Attorney to represent the Company or Zurich insureds in all phases of litigation. Engages in the practice of law, at all times in compliance with the ethical standards as established by the national/local area of practice. Performs duties such as provides legal analysis and advice, prepares and files legal pleadings and documents, performs legal research, prepares for and conducts pre-trial discovery, prepares for and handles judicial hearing and trials and conducts post-trial activities where appropriate.Performs at an experienced level. Under technical direction, works within significant limits and authority on assignments of higher technical complexity and coordination. Possesses demonstrated technical knowledge and skills including product and industry, reflective of successful progression through various job family levels. May provide guidance and assistance to lower level employees and other functional areas.
Job Qualifications JD or LLB required 5 or more years of liability litigation and jury trial experienceActive Member of Pennsylvania Bar a must Commercial insurance defense experience Self-starter with proven experience as a member of a litigation teamDemonstrated case analysis ability and a record of accomplishment of proven trial settlement skills PC literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, Lotus Notes, Access and CWS and significant knowledge of Lexis or Westlaw.Must be well organized with good analytical skills, excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.Ability to budget costs and calculate exposure.Has knowledge of billable and diary review with substantive and procedural legal knowledge.Understands the staff legal function and role in overall business.Preferred qualification:Insurance defense jury trials tried to conclusion. 1st and 2nd chair jury trial experience.
