Job Description
To deliver quality ready-mix concrete product to our customers in a timely, safe, and efficient manner.  
- Delivers product following designated routes to and from job sites.
- Ensure quality of product delivered including proper mix and slump.
- Ensures mixer is safe and mechanically sound and maintains cleanliness to VMC standards inside and out.
- Follows all DOT rules and requirements.
- Follows all safety and environmental procedures.
- Assists other drivers as necessary – reports delays/problems to superintendent or dispatcher.
- Understands basic testing procedures including field tests performed by others.
- Follows all rules and regulations as outlined in VMC Driver’s Manual including wearing personal protective equipment as required.
- Must be able to operate all functions of concrete delivery; e.g., washing truck after delivery, handling and assembling discharge chutes and extensions.
- Complies with all environmental, health, safety & training policies, procedures and requirements.

Required Skills
Education:         

- Must be able to read and understand written or diagrammatic instructions, Including road instructions, manuals, rules, regulations, etc.

Other:   
- Must have Class A or B Commercial Driving License.
- Must be DOT qualified.
- Driving record must meet minimum VMC requirements.

- Overtime required; weekend and evening work may be required.
- Ability to deal effectively with people in stressful situations.
- Must have previous experience on multiple-speed, heavy-duty equipment
- Must be able to work in a heavy industrial environment, exposed to extreme weather elements, some noise, perform some work in confined spaces, dust.
- Must be able to wear all required personal protection equipment for the task, including, but not exclusive, of safety glasses, respiratory protection, safety belts, gloves, etc.
- Must be physically able and maintain physical status to be eligible for CLD license.
- Must be able to perform heavy work and heavy lifting, with frequent lifting up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting up to 90 pounds.
