Job Description The successful candidate for this position will enter a training program to become proficient in several areas as related to mobile equipment maintenance/repair. This will include but will not be limited to:• Develop proficiency in performing routine repair and maintenance involving disassembly and overhaul and assembly and adjustments of equipment components. • Performs repair and maintenance as recommended by equipment service manuals and as directed by senior mechanics and Plant Manager. • Safely uses hand tools, power tools, shop machines and hoists, welding equipment, etc. Operates equipment for maintenance purposes • Performs simple cutting, fitting and welding tasks as directed. • Performs mechanic helper and shop attendant duties as required. • Serves as back-up for water and haul truck drivers, and a variety of other duties as directed by supervisor.• Will perform service on equipment as required.
Required Skills High School diploma or GED required. A degree from a recognized technical institution in diesel repair is preferred. 3-5 years mobile equipment repair and maintenance is also preferred. Position requires hand tools to be provided by the employee per the policy.
