Job Description
Essential Functions:
Analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds, and maintains fleet disel equipment, such as concrete mixers, forklifts, pumps, compressors, front-end loaders and fleet automotive equipment.  Uses micrometers and gages.  Replaces defective engines and sub-assemblies.  Operates and inspects machines and equipment to diagnose defects.  Dismantles and reassembles equipment, using hoist and hand tools.  Tests overhauled equipment.  Welds broken parts.  Performs routine maintenance such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.  Replaces or assists other workers as needed.   Creates work orders on all repairs and services providing legible and accurate information for all work performed.  Creates work orders on all repairs and services providing legible and accurate information for all work performed.  Input daily repair reports into Data Stream.  Performs other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.

Required Skills
Education:
Completion of high school required.  Additional vocational/trade school training in mechanical field preferred.   

Skills:
CDL license, ASE certified and Licensed State Inspector preferred.  Applies common sense to problems in standardized situations and follows written or diagrammatic instructions.  Calculates variables and uses formulas to determine area or volume.  Reads operators manuals, shop manuals, safety rules.  Writes reports, speaks and communicates effectively.

Physical Requirements:
Performs medium work by occasionally lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 50 pounds and frequently lifting and/or carrying 25 pounds.  Involves climbing on ladders and equipment and balancing on slippery or irregular surfaces.  Requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, fingering, and feeling.  Talking, hearing, and seeing are needed.
