Position Description

Position Summary: Key player in a protein formulation development group.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the design and execution of experiments for protein stabilization and formulation development.

Experience: Experience with protein formulation required. Previous experience in Biotech or Biologicals. Has a working knowledge of protein chemistry, protein stability, and protein degradation (such as aggregation). Proficiency with biophysical techniques (CD, fluorescence spectroscopy, FTIR, light scattering). Must apply knowledge to formulation development to derive data that supports stable protein products. Understanding of Regulatory issues and guidance’s required.

Special Skills/Abilities: The candidate must be able to plan and execute various formulation development studies independently and have good problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Must be proactive and creative, and willing to learn quickly. Should have the ability to thrive in an interdisciplinary fast-paced environment. Should have good interpersonal, collaborative and communications skills, both oral and written. Should be able to communicate scientific data and concepts effectively. Will participate on project teams where it is expected that all people will be well organized, and team players. Perform work without appreciable direction, determine technical objectives, and be an independent thinker.

Position Requirements

PhD with minimum of 2 years relevant experience OR MS with minimum of 9 years relevant experience OR BS with minimum of 12 years relevant experience (M10). PhD +0-2 years, MS +6 year and BS + 8 (M08). Degree must be in a relevant discipline: Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, etc., plus the appropriate number of years of relevant technical experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
