Job Summary: The Supervisor of Direct Sales (Door-to-Door Sales) manages the hiring, training and performance of the Direct Sales Representatives who call on residents and multi-family households. This position also works to ensure that the sales strategy and sales goals set at the corporate, region and district levels are followed and achieved respectively, by the Direct Sales Representatives. Sales Supervisor will also be required to sell door-to-door to assist systems in achieving budgeted quota and goals from time to time in which additional commission compensation will apply.
Illustrative Accountabilities: Leads and motivates all Internal and Contract Direct Sales Representatives in Door-to-Door activity to meet or exceed corporate/regional sales goals. Periodically develops account forecasts. Assigns territories customer sales opportunities and sales goals to individual Direct Sales Representatives based on their skill levels and on corporate/regional sales goals (quotas plus key sales objectives) for the system. Sets direction and maintains focus of direct reports. Supervisor will coordinate effectively with operational and installation counterparts to ensure high quality customer service. Supervisor will work with the Regional Sales Manager, District Marketing Managers and System Managers to ensure customer leads received from their direct reports and passed on to the Direct Sales Representatives as appropriate. Supervisor works with Direct Sales Representatives to ensure sales goals are achieved in alignment with corporate/regional sales strategies. Contacts Direct Sales Representatives to discuss results and coaches them on their performance (including sales skills). Conducts reviews of direct reports to ensure that performance standards are met and, if not, takes immediate action to improve performance level. Supervisor maintains effective utilization performance and career development of Direct Sales Representatives in all targeted areas. Supervisor will sign off on commission reports for Direct Sales Representatives. Supervisor will update Realtime with all required customer information in a timely manner. Ensures that Direct Reports use and update Realtime with all required customer information in a timely fashion. Serves as a subject matter expert and/or on selected customer sales. Controls expenses while meeting or exceeding revenue goals and maximizing product margin.
Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience, 3+ years experience in communication sales demonstrating progressive leadership positions. Must be able to coach and mentor Direct Sales Representatives to achieve sales goals. Must have a proven record of accomplishment of leading a team and achieving objectives and quotas. Knowledge of communications industry; Experience in industry preferred. Strong negotiation, problem solving and analytical skills. Strong administrative and supervisory skills.
